Inland Empire Food Truck Fest underpromises, overdelivers
I have to admit, I was a little skeptical that the promoters of the Inland Empire Food Truck Fest would be able to coerce 50 of Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties' food trucks to come all the way out to the Inland Empire.
I watched on Facebook, Twitter and the festival's website as the number of participating food trucks slowly crept up and up.
They've now got 54 trucks lined up and have not finished yet.
The latest announcements?
The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 18 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. Tickets (including a limited number of early-entry VIP tickets) are available now at the arena box office and at Ticketmaster.
Oh...and get ready for a special announcement from Dine 909 regarding the Inland Empire Food Truck Fest!

Fine and not-so-fine dining in the Inland Empire.
$8.00 regular price ticket vs $25.00 for VIP for 1 hour early admission. Is VIP really worth much more than the regular ticket? Just curious as I am really wanting to go to this event.

It's kind of a crap shoot...if they sell a lot of tickets for the event, that means long lines. Getting in an hour early, with only 500 people among 50+ trucks, that means much shorter lines. For an hour, anyway.
From what I've heard from others who have been to these large events, the lines can be horrendous for the most popular trucks. The largest food truck gathering I've been to only had about a dozen or so trucks. Lines were at a minimum.
Also, on their Facebook page, the promoters are working on "other goodies" for VIP ticket holders.
My guess is that, like most events, the earlier you get there, the better. The early bird, etc.
