Happy National Doughnut Day!

Who says doughnuts are only for mornings?

Today (June 3) is the 73rd National Doughnut Day and I think we should celebrate all day long!

It’s also a fundraiser for the Salvation Army, and many doughnut shops are “dough-nating” a portion of their proceeds today to them.

Just look for the poster pictured at the right, or click here for a partial list of participating shops.

Also, Krispy Kreme, whose sole Inland Empire location is at 4485 Mills Circle in Ontario, will be giving away a free doughnut of any variety to all its customers today. (One per customer, please!)

National Doughnut Day traces its roots all the way back to World War I.

On June 3rd, I went to a donut shop on Foothill & Garey, one of the places that was on the list linked here as a participant of the Doughnut Day event. The girl behind the counter looked at me as if I were a mental patient and said “We no give free doughnut. We sell doughnut”. So much for that.

  • It’s happy national donut day every day for me. Especially if Krispy Kreme is involved!
