Wienerschnitzel to serve up 61¢ hot dogs on Sunday

DW50.pngWienerschnitzel, which has been celebrating its 50th anniversary with deals and contests for quite some time now, is offering a deal this Sunday (July 17) -- the company's official birthday -- that is guaranteed to make hot dog lovers smile.

For that special day, Wienerschnitzel will lower the price of its original chili, mustard and kraut dogs to only 61¢.

Why 61¢? Because the restaurant started by John Galardi as a single drive-through in Wilmington back in 1961.

In addition, you'll be able to enter to win a 7-day, 6-night trip for two to Germany, plus $1,000 cash. Entry forms will be available only on Sunday.

But wait, there's more...
Plans are also in place for giveaways such as certificates for free food, original D/W crest stickers, and other Wienerschnitzel merchandise.

Also, the restaurant has just launched a contest where players have a chance to win one of 50 "Teenie-Wienie" cars (actually, a full-size 2012 Fiat 500).

If you don't win a car, you'll win free food (most likely a corn dog or 4-ounce Tastee Freez cone).

To enter, all you have to do is purchase a 30-ounce beverage, or request a game piece by mail by following the instructions here.

And if cheap hot dogs and free cars aren't enough, the restaurant is giving away golden wienie antenna toppers or key chains (for those of you whose cars have one of those shark fin antennas) with the purchase of any combo.

Come this Sunday, Wienerschnitzel will really be celebrating "Der fun since '61."

Wienerschnitzel restaurants can be found throughout the Inland Empire.
