Farrell's honors service members

The soon-to-open Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour in Rancho Cucamonga is going all out in honoring 400 local active military and veterans (and their families) today (December 7), the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The honorees will get free dinners and ice cream on Farrell's (and a preview of the new restaurant before everyone else). Patriotic songs will be performed.

In addition, the chain has partnered with the non-profit groups Heroes and Patriots and A Million Thanks bring military personnel to the event and will raise money for those organizations during its pre-opening celebrations.

Also, all military personnel will receive a bundle of 500 thank you letters collected from around the country by A Million Thanks.

The event will take place beginning at 6 p.m. tonight at the new Farrell's, 10742 Foothill Blvd., Rancho Cucamonga.
