Taste of Brews coming to Riverside Saturday

Remember a few weeks back when there were 11 Inland Empire breweries represented at Craft Brewing Company’s second anniversary?

Was Lake Elsinore a bit too far to drive for ya?

Is Riverside a little closer?

Many of those breweries are scheduled to be at the Taste of Brews Saturday (June 2) at White Park, 3901 Market St., in downtown Riverside, alongside about twenty other brewers.

The event runs until 4 p.m., with general admission at 1 p.m. and V.I.P. admission at noon.

Inland Empire breweries which are scheduled to attend include: Chino’s I & I Brewing, Temecula’s Black Market Brewing Co., Riverside’s Packinghouse Brewing Co.,  Redlands’ Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, Riverside’s Inland Empire Brewing Company, Moreno Valley’s Kat Daddy Breweries, Riverside’s The Big Cheese Pizza Co. & Brewery, Lake Elsinore’s Craft Brewing Company, Temecula’s Weins Brewing Company and Corona’s Main Street Brewery.

As well as the breweries, the Riverside Homebrew Crew will be represented.

Help support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during Nicky’s Week at RA Sushi

RA Sushi, with Inland Empire locations in Chino Hills and Corona, is hosting its eighth annual “Nicky’s Week” fundraiser through Saturday (June 2).

RA will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of a variety of
menu items and beverages to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help support the hospital’s mission.

Known primarily as a cancer research center, St. Jude doctors and researchers also treat children with sickle cell disease and pediatric HIV.

Nicky’s Week is held in memory of 13-year-old St. Jude patient Nicholas “Nicky” Mailliard, of Scottsdale, Ariz., who lost a long battle with brain cancer in February 2005. A nephew of one of RA Sushi’s founders, Nicky held a special place in the hearts of RA Sushi associates throughout the organization.

RA Sushi initiated the fundraiser to honor the memory of Nicky and to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude, where no child is ever turned away because of a family’s inability to pay for medical treatments. They’ve raised $943,000 so far and hope to surpass $1 million this week.

In addition, the chain is hosting a Twitter contest to help spread the word about the fundraiser. Grand prize is free sushi for a year. Click here for more information on the contest.

All 25 RA Sushi locations in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia,
Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Nevada and Texas will participate in the
fundraiser.

For more information on Nicky’s Week, click here.

RA Sushi is at 13925 City Center Drive, Suite 2065, Chino Hills, and 2785 Cabot Drive, Suite 7-101, Corona.
