Waffle-sandwich innovator coming to Chino Hills

Orange County-based Bruxië has announced that its first location outside of Orange County will be in the Inland Empire — Chino Hills to be exact.

Bruxië specializes in gourmet waffle sandwiches filled with everything from bacon, egg and cheddar to pastrami to burgers to peanut butter and jelly.

The sandwiches are made using a yeasty, not-sweet waffle, but the restaurant also offers the more traditional Liège waffles made with pearl sugar for dessert.

Bruxi also offers salads and desserts made with frozen custard, along with daily specials.

Prices appear reasonable, with nothing on the menu over $10.

The new location will be at 13920 City Center Drive in the Shoppes at Chino Hills, a spot formerly occupied by Johnny Rockets.

(Note to self: Johnny Rockets is down to two Inland Empire locations — Victoria Gardens and Rancho Mirage.)

The Chino Hills location isn’t expected to open until November.
