San Bernardino Police and Animal Control officers, along with San Bernardino City Shelter staff, will be helping serve customers at the Mexico Cafe, 892 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino.

The “Paws for a Cause” event will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, October 15, in support of the Helping Every Animal League.

The organization is dedicated to helping San Bernardino City shelter animals.

The event will also give attendees a chance to meet the San Bernardino Police Department’s K-9 Unit.

H.E.A.L. will also be accepting donations of dog and cat food, kitty litter, bleach, dog and cat treats, newspaper and sturdy shower curtains for use at the shelter. The items can be dropped off at the restaurant.
