1,500-foot-long burrito created in Fontana

Imagine the Eiffel Tower.

No, not the one in Las Vegas. The one in Paris.

Now imagine a burrito that’s nearly one and a half times as long as the Eiffel Tower is tall.

That’s what was created Sunday in Fontana as part of Cardenas Markets’ sixth annual Festival Cardenas at Auto Club Speedway.

The lengthy burrito — filled with sections of carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, chili verde and chicken — beat last year’s version by 500 feet.

By no means a world record (which appears to be a 8,076-footer made in 2004 at the Nevada State Fair), but still enough to serve 6,000 people.

Michael Nolan, reporter for The Sun, documented the event, complete with video of the burrito’s construction.
