Welcome to the Inland Empire, Bruxië!

Bruxie after darkTonight Dine 909 (along with food critic Allan Borgen and the fine folks from I.E. Shine On, among others) attended a special media preview of the Chino Hills Bruxië, which opens tomorrow (November 14).

I have just three words: Believe the hype.

The sandwiches, desserts and drinks we had tonight were delicious!

Albacore Tuna MeltBruxië partners Dean Simon and Kelly Mullarney were on hand to introduce the (mostly) uninitiated group to the restaurant’s fare.

We sampled many of the Orange County-based restaurant’s signature waffle sandwiches, including: Green Eggs and Ham; Bacon, Egg and Cheddar; Smoked Salmon Lox and Dill Cream Cheese; Hot Pastrami Bruxië; Albacore Tuna Melt, Prosciutto and Gruyere; Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffle; Turkey Club; and the Bruxië Burger.

Hot Pastrami BruxieAll had fresh ingredients and were very flavorful.

We also sampled some dessert waffle sandwiches (S’Mores and Créme Brulée with strawberry) and a more traditional Liège waffle.

We washed down our food samples with tastes of pure cane sodas, produced especially for Bruxië, and floats and shakes made with Wisconsin frozen custard.

Seasonal Créme BruléeThe restaurant itself is rather unique, with large, roll-up windows that do an effective job of bringing an outside feel to the interior of the restaurant. (Bruxië’s flagship location in Orange has no indoor seating.)

Prices are reasonable, with nothing on the menu over $10.

After all the food we had tonight, we probably won’t have to eat for a week, but when that week is up, we’re definitely looking forward to going back.

The Chino Hills Bruxië, 13865 City Center Drive, Suite 309 (in the Shoppes at Chino Hills), is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
