Today (April 20) is turning out to be a day of firsts here in the Inland Empire.
Happening 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. is the inaugural Riverside Tamale Festival in White Park.
Now comes (late) word of the inaugural Oak Glen Chili Cook-Off at That Creative Cafe and The Black Twig Gift Shop, 11925 Oak Glen Road.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There are seven non-profit organizations’ teams that will compete for cash prizes and receive proceeds from the cook-off.
Participating are:
- Wildhaven Ranch
- Yucaipa Animal Placement Society
- Christian Horse Lovers Club
- VFW
- San Gorgonio Wilderness Association
- Cub Scouts, Pack 322 of Beaumont
- Cub Scouts, Pack 4 of Yucaipa
Plus, the Yucaipa Chamber of Commerce will be raising funds by selling beer made by our friends at Ritual Brewing.
In addition to the cook-off there will be over two dozen exhibitors, two live bands, trackless train rids, a puppet show, a bird of prey demo, kids’ games, a face painter, raffle prizes, an apple-peeling contest and the ever-popular more.
