85°C Bakery Cafe coming to the Inland Empire

We’ve mentioned before that the Taiwanese chain 85°C Bakery Cafe was inching closer to the Inland Empire, with locations in Hacienda Heights and then West Covina.

Well, it didn’t take long for them to get here.

I visited the West Covina location tonight and saw a sticker in the window advertising that the beverage/pastry/bread shop was hiring for its Chino Hills location.

Hooray!

The chain is looking for energetic and friendly folks with excellent work ethics, strong communication skills and a willing-to-learn attitude.

Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Openings include management positions and store and kitchen staff.

An application is available by clicking here.

You can submit your application via email or drop it off at one of the three Southland locations (Irvine is the other), giving you an excuse to get a sea salt coffee and a boroh cream danish while you’re there.

The bakery is apparently going in to the spot vacated by the City Broiler, 12959 Peyton Drive, and at one time had planned to open this month. We’ll post more details when we get ’em.

Update: The bakery cafe will open at 10 a.m. Friday (July 19), with surprise gifts for the first 500 guests in line. Plus, you can get a free coffee mug if you spend more than $20 in one transaction.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin’s Chino Hills reporter Canan Tasci has done a great job of capturing the scene during the location’s opening day. You can read it here.
