Panera Bread raising funds for breast cancer research

Since 2001, Panera Bread has been rolling out its cherry vanilla Pink Ribbon bagel in October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Panera donates 10ยข of every Pink Ribbon bagel sold to breast cancer charities.

However, on Friday (October 18), greater Los Angeles area locations (Inland Empire included) will be donating 100% of Pink Ribbon bagel sales to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation in support of its mission to achieve a future without breast cancer by focusing on prevention and finding the cause.

Head over the jump for a quick video of the campaign’s founder, Panera franchisee and cancer survivor Sue Stees, on the occasion of the campaign’s 10th anniversary in 2011.

Since the campaign’s inception, Panera has raised more than $1 million for breast cancer charities through sales of the Pink Ribbon bagel. Over two million Pink Ribbon Bagels were sold nationally in 2012 alone.
