This is pretty big news for a restaurant chain that started right here in the Inland Empire.

Chipotle’s former Chief Financial Officer, John Miller, is now CFO at the vegan eatery Native Foods Café.

During Miller’s tenure with Chipotle, the chain grew from a dozen locations to 200.

Native Foods, which began in Palm Springs in 1994, currently has 15 locations, but is looking to more than double that next year, hoping to add 18 to 24 locations in 2014.

The original restaurant (1775 E. Palm Canyon Drive
Palm Springs) is still the chain’s only Inland Empire location, although there used to be a Palm Desert location as well.
