Palm Springs Props and Hops returns Saturday

Palm Springs Hops and PropsWe had a blast at last year’s Palm Springs Props and Hops at the Palm Springs Air Museum, and this year’s edition is happening Saturday (November 23).

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, 745 N. Gene Autry Trail, Palm Springs.

Tickets, which include twelve four-ounce tastings, are $35 “before November 15,” and $40 after (including at the door), but are still available at the lower price by clicking here.

Sixteen brewers from Southern California and beyond are scheduled to participate. Read on for the list.

Victorville Marie Callender’s gets a new look

High Desert folks…if you’re looking for a more comfortable place to enjoy some comfort food, you might want to stop by the newly-remodeled Marie Callender’s, 12180 Mariposa Road, Victorville.

The restaurant unveiled its new look last month.

Of course, it’s also conveniently right off the 15 Freeway at Bear Valley Road for those Vegas road trips.

Reservations being taken for BJ’s holiday beer pairing dinners

Reservations are now being taken for a special five-course holiday beer-pairing dinner at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse locations throughout the Inland Empire.

The dinners will take place beginning next Monday (November 25).

Price is $30 per person, and obviously, you’ve gotta be 21 or older to participate.

A trio of Inland Empire breweries are celebrating first anniversaries today (November 16).

From north to south, they are Oak Hills Brewing Company in Hesperia, Redlands’ Ritual Brewing Co., and Wiens Brewing Company in Temecula.

Panda Express taking donations for typhoon relief; will match funds

Panda Express has stepped up and is collecting donations for Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts.

Donations are being taken at all Panda Express locations through December 4.

Panda Restaurant Group will match 100% of all contributions received.

The funds will benefit the American Red Cross and the Tzu Chi Foundation.

Beer and cheese — if you please — at Dale Bros. Brewery on Saturday

Dale Bros and Drake Family FarmsUpland’s Dale Bros. Brewery is teaming up with Ontario’s Drake Family Farms for a beer and cheese pairing event this Saturday (November 16).

For $13, participants will get a full cheese plate, plus a beer flight.

The pairing event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. at the brewery, 2120 Porterfield Way.

Local beer, local cheese…sounds like a win-win!

You can help My Delight Cupcakery build Thanksgiving baskets for the hungry

MyDelightThanksgivingToday (November 12), Ontario’s My Delight Cupcakery began collecting items to fill Thanksgiving baskets for donation to Foothill Family Shelter.

The bakery will post different items on its Facebook page through Friday (November 15).

Customers who bring in any of the items listed for that day will get 25% off their in-store purchase.

For example, those who brought in canned green beans, boxed potatoes and/or stuffing today got the discount.

Dolce revamps its menu, hosts grand re-opening

About a month ago, Montclair’s Dolce closed its doors to prepare to launch a new menu.

The bakery and bistro is celebrating those changes (along with the end of a year-long expansion and remodel) with a grand re-opening celebration that will last through tomorrow (November 10).

The eatery is also re-branding itself as the city’s first gastropub. With 15 beers on tap, another 24 available in bottles and a fairly eclectic menu, I’d say that’s a pretty apt moniker.

Bizarre Bazaar aims to fill food bank’s pantry

Here’s a unique way to help hungry folks.

St. Hyacinth Academy in San Jacinto is hosting a Bizarre Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (November 9).

Vendors will be setting up and selling their wares in the school’s multipurpose room, 275 S. Victoria Ave.

The event is also a food drive. Those who bring in five pounds of non-perishable food items will get a surprise gift.
