Taco Bell‘s foray into breakfast has rattled a few fast food cages.

McDonald’s quick response was to offer a free small coffee during breakfast hours for two weeks.

The promotion began Monday (March 31) and runs through April 13.

Del Taco is also offering a freebie — an order of five hash brown sticks — with the purchase of two of its new breakfast tacos, which launch today.

The freebie is available from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. through April 27.

The new taco varieties are:

• Breakfast taco: Eggs and grated cheddar cheese in a flour tortilla (75¢ each)
• Bacon breakfast taco: Eggs, grated cheddar cheese and bacon in a flour tortilla ($1 each)
• Sausage breakfast taco: Eggs, grated cheddar cheese and sausage in a flour tortilla ($1.00 each)
• Steak breakfast taco: Eggs, grated cheddar cheese and carne asada steak in a flour tortilla ($1.75 each)
