Riverside Tamale Festival returns April 19

Tamale fans can rejoice in the fact that the Riverside Tamale Festival is back for a second year of entertainment, family fun, contests, and of course, tamales!

The festival will take place once again at White Park, 3936 Chestnut St., in downtown Riverside.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 19.

The festival will feature a tamale eating contest and best tamale contests for both vendors and home tamale makers.

Judges include Santana lead singer Andy Vargas and actress and singer Christina “T Lopez.”

There’s also a kids’ zone, sponsored by John’s Incredible Pizza.

Admission is just $1.

The event is a fundraiser for the formation of the Trujillo Adobe Foundation for the restoration of the adobe and the revitalization of La Placita del los Trujillos.
