Meet Chick-fil-A’s $50 million grilled sandwiches and nuggets

Chick-fil-A grilled sandwichesChick-fil-A has spent $50 million-plus and seven years perfecting its new grilled chicken recipe.

Beginning Monday (April 14), you’ll be able to taste the fruits of the chain’s labor in three new menu items, created partly in response to consumers’ desire for healthier options.

The bulk of the investment was spent working with Garland Grills to create a proprietary grill, which was 11 years in the making. The grill sears chicken on cast-iron grates just like on a backyard grill, only faster.

Movoto offers 15 great places to eat in San Bernardino

Remember last fall when the Movoto real estate site ranked San Bernardino as the worst city for food lovers?

The site’s blog has extended an olive branch of sorts, with a new post highlighting 15 San Bernardino restaurants that will “blow the taste buds out of your mouth.”

That’s a good thing…we think.

Taco Bell rattles cages; breakfast freebies offered by Del Taco and McDonald’s

Taco Bell‘s foray into breakfast has rattled a few fast food cages.

McDonald’s quick response was to offer a free small coffee during breakfast hours for two weeks.

The promotion began Monday (March 31) and runs through April 13.

Farrell’s Quake Shake sales to benefit Red Cross

Hot on the heels of last week’s 5.1 temblor in La Habra and this week’s deadly Chilean earthquake, Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour has created a Rocky Road Quake Shake, made with chocolate ice cream and a marshmallow swirl and topped with whipped cream, almonds and a cherry.

Through Sunday (April 6), the chain is donating 100% of the sales of the $4.99 dessert to the American Red Cross
