Last weekend to try to qualify to win a year’s worth of Farrell’s Ice Cream

Sunday (July 13) is the last day to head to a participating Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour restaurant to try to qualify in the chain’s ice cream eating challenge.

Individual challengers can try to qualify by paying $20 (proceeds benefit CHOC Children’s and Make-A-Wish). Challengers will receive a three-scoop sundae, a limited-editon Farrell’s Ice Cream Challenge shirt and a $5 coupon, good on a future visit.

The goal is to eat the sundae as quickly as possible. (Current leaders can be found here.)

Redlands Pieology’s three-day pizza giveaway begins Sunday

Just as it did with its Rancho Cucamonga pizzeria, Pieology is gearing up for three days of pizza giveaways as a kind of a stress test as a preamble to its Redlands store opening.

On Sunday (July 13), giveaway times are brief and limited to the pizzeria’s “menued” pizzas from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. and 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.

N7 Creamery celebrating grand opening this weekend

[N⁷] Creamery has been open for a little while now, but the bakery/coffeehouse/liquid nitrogen ice cream shop is celebrating its grand opening this weekend.

In fact, the festivities have already begun.

An art walk is going on until 10 p.m. tonight (July 11). More than a dozen artists are participating in the event.

Krispy Kreme to celebrate 77th birthday with 77¢ second dozen Friday

It seems like a lot of eateries are celebrating anniversaries this month and last. Here’s another to add to the list: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

The chain will celebrate its 77th anniversary on Friday (July 11).

That day, guests can receive a dozen original glazed doughnuts for just 77¢ when they purchase any dozen at regular price.

The chain’s sole Inland Empire location is at 4485 Mills Circle.

New-concept Souplantation open in Chino Hills; grand opening is Thursday

The long-anticipated Souplantation has opened in Chino Hills.

It’s the first of its restaurants to sport a new, fresh design.

The restaurant had its soft opening last month, but will be hosting a grand opening fundraiser on Thursday (July 10).

Celebrate IHOP’s Sweet 56 with 56¢ pancakes tomorrow

IHOP is turning 56 and is celebrating by offering a short stack of pancakes for just 56¢ tomorrow (July 8).

All you have to do is visit any participating location between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to get the deal.

Celebrate Shakey’s Pizza Parlor’s 60th anniversary with a free slice on Monday

Sixty years ago, the first Shakey’s Pizza Parlor opened in a former grocery store in Sacramento.

Monday (July 7), the pizzeria is celebrating its 60th anniversary by giving away free giant slices of pizza from 3 to 5 p.m. at participating Southern California locations. No purchase is necessary.

Participating Inland Empire locations include Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Upland, Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Moreno Valley, Palm Springs, Riverside and Temecula.
