Taco Shack hosting fundraiser this month for Redlands Police Department’s K-9s

Redlands’ Taco Shack, 510 E. State St., is hosting a fundraiser for the Redlands Police Department’s narcotics K-9 unit beginning Monday (August 11) and ending August 30.

As part of the fundraiser, guests can make a donation and have their names placed on the walls of the restaurant.

The fundraiser will culminate with an event beginning at noon on August 30, during which Police Chief Mark A. Garcia will volunteer in a demonstration as the department’s patrol dog “takes a bite out of crime.”

The August 30 event will also feature music, raffles and prizes.

Since 2008, ongoing costs for the department’s canines have been paid entirely by private donations, with no cost to the city’s General Fund.

Donations may be made directly to the City of Redlands, attention Police Canine Fund, tax ID number 95-6000766. For further information, contact Patrick Estrada at 909-647-7872 or by email at pestrada@redlandspolice.org.
