In the past, we’ve mentioned the popular (and usually sold-out) Scotch whisky classes at Vom Fass in Claremont.
Well, next month the shop is upping the ante.
Scotch Master Stewart Laing will be visiting from Glasgow, Scotland, and spending two days at the shop conducting Scotch seminars and a teaching a Scotch class.
Laing has almost 50 years experience in the whisky business and recently started his own company — Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd. — with his two sons.
He will be conducting 15-minute mini seminars (complete with tastings) at the top of each hour from noon to 4 p.m. November 8 and 9. The seminars are free and open to the public.
Then from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. November 9, Laing will conduct a Scotch whisky class. Participants will learn about Scotch and the regions of Scotland, as well as sample single malt Scotch whiskies and exclusive blends from Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd.
The class costs $45 and reservations are already being taken at the store, 101 N. Indian Hill Blvd., Suite C2-100, or by phone at 909-399-0256. You must be 21 or older to participate in the seminars or the class.
His Claremont visit is one of just a few stops here in the U.S.
