The long-gestating Super Pizza Hut opens today (August 30) in north San Bernardino.
During a pre-opening military appreciation day on Sunday, I was able to take a peek at the new location.
I was told that the first-of-its-kind restaurant was the nation’s largest Pizza Hut, and I don’t doubt it.
Del Taco recently introduced its new platos at select locations in San Bernardino, Redlands, Colton, Loma Linda and Riverside.
The platos come with a choice of either a wet burrito, two fish tacos or two street tacos, plus cilantro lime rice, beans and chips and salsa.
Prices range from $6.49 to $7.49.
It appears to be a second go-round for Del Taco’s platos. They were also tested about a year ago in the Sacramento area.

The San Bernardino El Torito is hosting a fundraiser for the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today (April 1).
The location — 118 E. Hospitality Lane — will donate 20% of your check when you present this flier when you dine.
The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in San Bernardino is hosting a Mardi Gras-themed dinner tonight (February 6) in support of the United Way’s San Bernardino United Relief Fund.
The full amount of the $25 dinner will go to the fund.
On the menu is gumbo, salad, king cake and drinks.
The dinner will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, 5050 N. Sierra Way.

Today (January 21) is the third Thursday of January, which means that food trucks will again be converging for lunch in downtown San Bernardino.
The trucks will be parked between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the city hall parking lot on the south side of Court Street, between D and E streets.
Scheduled trucks this month include: Baby’s Badass Burgers, Bakerytruck, Cousins Maine Lobster, Jojo’s Grill-A-Dog, Piaggio on Wheels, Smoke ‘Em if You Got ‘Em BBQ and The Waffle-Oh! Truck.
Attendees who take the sbX to the event will receive a $5 voucher for the trucks.

The permit for inaugural San Bernardino International Tamale Festival, set for this weekend (January 9 and 10) at Perris Hill Park, was revoked by the city late yesterday (January 7) due to an expected 40% chance of rain at around 9 p.m. Saturday night.
It’s Sundowners Family Restaurants’ 34th anniversary today (November 28), and the small, local chain is celebrating by offering a top sirloin steak dinner for just 1¢ — with the purchase of a top sirloin steak dinner for $7.99.
The dinners include Sundowner toast and a choice of baked potato, fried rice, French fries or mashed potatoes and gravy.
