Redlands Long John Silver’s fans…you better get your share of chicken planks and hushpuppies now.
That’s because the longtime Redlands location at 1325 Industrial Park Ave. is set to close before the end of the month.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the following highlights:
About 40 Redlands businesses — including eateries and breweries — will be hosting a “Bonded & Strong” fundraiser today (December 19) for victims of the December 2 terror attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.
Parliament Chocolate and à la minute are leading the charge (along with International Day Spa) by donating 100% of sales — and in the case of à la minute, at its three locations in Redlands, Claremont and Orange — to the cause.
The pizzeria is celebrating its grand opening tomorrow (December 8).
The first 52 customers in line when the restaurant opens at 11 a.m. will receive a free pizza or salad.
Sunday (October 25) is your chance to get some sweet treats for yourself and help end childhood hunger at the same time. That’s because it’s the return of the Redlands Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry.
This year, there will be a change versus previous outings. Instead of a separate event held in the spring, the organizers have joined with the Downtown Redlands Art Walk.
The event is set for noon to 6 p.m. at various businesses in the downtown area.
Food trucks will again be part of this year’s Rah Rah Redlands at the University of Redlands’ Ted Runner Stadium.
The homecoming tailgating event, which is open to the public, runs until 8:30 p.m., with the football game kicking off at 7 p.m., tonight (October 3).
Adult admission, which includes the football game, is $10. Kids 4 to 12 get in for $5. U of R students and kids 3 and younger get in free. A family pass — good for two adults and up to four kids — is $35.
Redlands-based J. Riley Distillery has released its first batches of whiskey for sale.

We’ve known about the San Bernardino Jimmy John’s since we spotted it in mid-May, and initially was told it was set to open in the first part of June.
Well, it turns out that timeline was a little optimistic.
The eatery, 1060 Harriman Place, Suite C5, is now set to open on Tuesday (July 21).
The franchise owners have another location in the works.
The original plan, after Redlands’ Dhat Island closed in November, the plan was to find a new place and reopen in the spring.
Fans are still waiting.
The event, which follows a similar pop-up two weeks ago, begins at 4:30 p.m.
