Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen & Bakery hosting cookie fundraiser

Corky'sSeptember is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen and Bakery has cooked up a sweet fundraiser.

Corky’s will donate $1 from each sale of its Gold Cancer Awareness Ribbon cookies this month to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.

In addition, the restaurant will donate 25¢ from the sales of all other cookies.

Pieology fundraiser to help fight cystic fibrosis

A Hawaiian pizza is the latest weapon in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

The pie, a creation of a 10-year-old named Harry, is made with red sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple and cilantro.

You see, Harry’s friend, Morgan Johnson, 12, is battling the disease.

Pieology Pizzeria is using Harry’s pizza to raise funds to help his friend and other folks in the same situation.

Through June 1, Pieology is donating 15% of all sales of Mo Jo’s Hawaiian Pizza to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Reservations being taken for BJ’s holiday beer pairing dinners

Reservations are now being taken for a special five-course holiday beer-pairing dinner at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse locations throughout the Inland Empire.

The dinners will take place beginning next Monday (November 25).

Price is $30 per person, and obviously, you’ve gotta be 21 or older to participate.

Food trucks headed to Corona tomorrow

Corona appears to be continuing its reign as the Inland Empire’s most food truck-friendly city.

It seems like there’s at least one event every week there.

Tomorrow’s (September 14) event happens to be the 100th anniversary of the Corona Road Race, which took place on the city’s circular Grand Boulevard in 1913, 1914 and 1916.

Food truck lunch in Corona on Saturday

CHSFoodTruckFestivalIt seems Corona is becoming a regular food truck stop.

The latest event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (September 7) at Centennial High School, 1820 Rimpau Ave.

A dozen trucks are scheduled to serve at the event, which is being put on by the Husky Marching Alliance.

Admission is just $3 for adults and $1 for kids.

Corona Gourmet Food Truck Festival is Saturday

Corona Gourmet Food Truck FestivalIt’s back!

The Corona Gourmet Food Truck Festival, which combines nearly two dozen Southern California food trucks with great food and drink from The Shops at Dos Lagos’ eateries, makes its return on Saturday (August 24).

The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Dos Lagos, 2780 Cabot Drive.

TAPS Craft Brew FestivalIt’s time for the Corona TAPS Fish House & Brewery’s annual Craft Brew Festival.

Nearly three dozen Southern California (and one from outside the area) breweries are participating in the event, with about a third coming from the Inland Empire.
