Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour is celebrating its 50th anniversary on Friday (September 13), but the gifts are going to its guests that day.
Farrell’s will be serving up four of its original sundaes at their original 1963 prices, with the purchase of an adult entrée.
Since San Bernardino County overturned its ban on food trucks a little over a year ago, Riverside County has been the sole remaining county to still ban them from operating on a daily basis.
That may soon change.
County Supervisor Kevin Jeffries is starting a push to overturn the ban, and he’s leading by doing.
There will be a food truck “rally” Tuesday (June 25) at the County Administrative Center at 4080 Lemon St. in downtown Riverside.
The number of Inland Empire breweries continues to grow unabated.
There are several breweries that have recently opened or are opening soon.

Just found out about this event…the La Sierra University senior class is hosting an art walk and food truck festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday (April 28).
Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which is a fundraiser for the senior class gift. There’s no mention of an admission price, so I’m thinking it’s a free event.
Since La Sierra is a Seventh-day Adventist campus, the focus is on meat-free trucks. So, no Bacon MANia.
The event will be held at the “statue patio,” which I believe is the same as the sculpture plaza, which is at the end of Yeager Way, the main entrance to the campus. But I could be totally wrong.
La Sierra University is at 4500 Riverwalk Parkway, Riverside.
For more information and updates, click here for the Facebook event page.
Click over the jump to see the list of participating trucks.
In addition to commercial and amateur “Best Tamale” contests, there will also be a tamale juggling contest, musical entertainment and a kids’ zone.
Proceeds from the free event will go toward the formation of the Trujillo Adobe Foundation, which has the goal of restoration of the Trujillo Adobe and revitalization of La Placita de los Trujillos.
Prospective employees should apply in person at the future location, 10255 Magnolia Ave., a former Wendy’s.
Applications are taken from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
