Chocolate Decadence, wine festival coming to Pechanga this weekend

WineFestChocDecTemecula’s Pechanga Resort and Casino has a pair of delectable events this weekend that are sure to delight any food lover.

The resort’s annual Chocolate Decadence is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Friday (February 27).

The event features both sweet and savory chocolate treats, along with more than 30 wineries featuring over 100 champagnes, sparkling and dessert wines specially selected for pairing.

Attendees will also be able to sample desserts and other confections created by Pechanga’s pastry chefs.

Menchie’s celebrating grand opening in Temecula

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt has opened at 32195 Temecula Parkway, Suite 102, in Temecula.

The new location is celebrating with grand opening specials all week:

  • Today (July 28): $1 yogurt hour from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday (July 29): Kids under 10 years old eat free (up to 10 ounces) from 2 to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday (July 30): 50% off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thursday (July 31): Free dodge balls to the first 25 guests, starting at 3 p.m.
  • Friday (August 1): Buy one get one free yogurt from 8 to 11 p.m.

Other Inland Empire Menchie’s locations include Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Hesperia.

Black Angus and Del Taco celebrate golden anniversaries

Del Taco prize packCongratulations to two restaurant chains that turn 50 this year: Del Taco and Black Angus.

Black Angus has kicked off a yearlong celebration with a classic cocktail menu, featuring timeless libations such as Rob Roy, Old Fashioned, Sidecar, Whiskey Sour and Vodka Gimlet.

In addition, the classic cocktails are available for just $5 with the purchase of any entrée on Tuesdays. The steakhouse also will introduce limited time entrées and seasonal desserts throughout the year.

Del Taco, of course, was born in the Inland Empire, and is intertwined with the histories of Baker’s Drive-Thru, Taco Bell, Taco Tia and Naugles.

Lazy Dog raises more than $5,000 for Girl Scouts

Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar has released numbers for this year’s Thin Mint milkshake fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of America.

The fundraiser, which took place in February and March, raised $5,249 for the Girl Scouts.

The chain donated $1 for each limited-edition shake ordered in its 12 SoCal locations (and sole Northern California location) to the organization.

Temecula Fatburger to celebrate anniversary with $1 burgers

About a year ago, we told you that Fatburger had opened in Temecula.

That means it’s time for their one year anniversary!

They’ll be celebrating that on Thursday (December 12).

And they’ll be celebrating with $1 small Fatburgers for everyone between 3 and 5 p.m. on that day.

Lazy Dog donates $10,000 to fight cancer; announces new fundraiser

Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar recently announced the results of its third annual “Bark for the Cure” campaign, and the participation in a new fundraiser that allows guests to easily contribute to worthy causes.

Lazy Dog recently donated $10,000 to the St. Jude Crosson Comprehensive Cancer Center and Kathryn T. McCarty Breast Cancer Center of Southern California.

The funds were borne out of this year’s “Bark for the Cure” campaign, which took place in September and October.

The chain also announced participation in Round It Up America.
