Reservations are now being taken for a special five-course holiday beer-pairing dinner at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse locations throughout the Inland Empire.

The dinners will take place beginning next Monday (November 25).

Price is $30 per person, and obviously, you’ve gotta be 21 or older to participate.

Garage Brewing Co. and Pizzeria in Temecula holding job fair

Garage Brewing Co. and Pizzeria is looking to staff the pizzeria portion of its soon-to-open location and is hosting a job fair tomorrow (October 1) and Wednesday (October 2).

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the future location, 29095 Old Town Front Street, Temecula.

Full- and part-time positions are available.

Auntie Anne’s helping raise funds to fight childhood cancer

AuntieAnnesALSFAuntie Anne’s is hoping to raise half a million dollars to help fight childhood cancer, and they need your help to do it.

Through October 15, the pretzel purveyor is selling lemon icons for $1, each of which contains a kid-friendly lemon joke and $1 off the purchaser’s next pretzel and drink.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization which raises funds to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

But the fun doesn’t end there.

Pechanga Microbrew Fest and Chili Cook-off is Saturday

The weather is expected to hit the 90s this Saturday (July 13) in Temecula, but it should be nice and cool inside Pechanga Resort and Casino’s Grand Ballroom, where the casino’s fifth annual Microbrew Festival and Chili Cook-off will be taking place.

Your $45 ticket includes not only chili tastings from the resort’s restaurants, but a two-ounce taster glass to enjoy unlimited samples of craft brews from the Inland Empire and beyond.

It’s not just about beer and chili, though.

There will also be a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley, and entertainment by the country/rock band American Made.

The event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m.

Pechanga BBQ Championship is Saturday

Pechanga BBQ ChapionshipAnother great Inland Empire food event landed in our inbox this morning: Pechanga’s second annual BBQ Championship is Saturday (June 22).

Dozens of ‘cuing teams from Washington, Utah, Arizona and all over California will be competing in the event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They’ll be hoping to take home their share of the $20,000 prize in this Kansas City Barbeque Society event, the largest in Southern California.

Admission is just $5, and kids 10 and younger are admitted free. Barbecue tastings and beverages are extra.

Local brewers debut at Temecula balloon and wine festival

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival, and organizers are mixing things up a bit by including several of the valley’s breweries in the festivities.

Aftershock Brewing, Black Market Brewing Co., Brew-Ligion, Ironfire Brewing Company, Refuge Brewery and Wiens Brewing will be sampling and pouring at this year’s event.

The festival continues from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow (June 1) and 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (June 2) at Lake Skinner Recreation Area, 37701 Warren Road, Winchester.
