Oktoberfest times two Saturday in Claremont, Upland

Claremont Education Foundation OktoberfestIt’s two, two, two festivals in one as Claremont Craft Ales and Upland’s Dale Bros. Brewery team up for Oktoberfest this Saturday.

Partnering with the breweries is Claremont Educational Foundation. The breweries will donate 10% of beer sales to the organization.

The event will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday (October 26).

A yellow school bus will shuttle participants between the two breweries every half hour.

Inka Trails hosting another wine pairing dinner Friday night

Peruvian restaurant Inka Trails is hosting another of its special wine pairing dinners from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday night (September 27) at the restaurant, 1077 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont.

The event includes a three-course dinner paired with Peruvian and Argentinian wines.

Cost is $35 (plus tax) in advance and $40 the day of the event.

Claremont Pie Festival and Village Fair happening today

Do you like pie?

Annika Corbin, owner of I Like Pie, and the Claremont Chamber Village Marketing Group have cooked up the Claremont Pie Festival and Village Fair, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (August 3).

Events, including an apron parade and contest, and pie baking and eating contests, will take place in various locations (Village Square Public Plaza, Claremont Depot, the Packing House) throughout the Village.

Claremont Restaurant Week has begun

Claremont Restaurant WeekIt’s Claremont’s turn for restaurant week.

The inaugural Claremont Restaurant Week begins today (July 9) and concludes next Tuesday (July 16).

About a quarter of the city’s 80-plus eateries are participating in the event, offering prix fixe specials ranging in price from $10 to $40.

Claremont Village’s Blues & Brews Craft Beer Walk is Saturday

Foodies and craft beer fans will want to take in the Claremont Village’s fourth annual Blues and Brews Craft Beer Walk, which takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday (June 29).

Participants (21 years of age and older) will be able to tour the village and try food and drink samples from nearly two dozen participating eateries and sample beer from about 15 craft breweries.

They’ll be entertained along the way by over a dozen bands.

Inka Trails wine pairing event is Wednesday

Peruvian restaurant Inka Trails is hosting a special wine pairing event from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (April 24) at the restaurant, 1077 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont.

The event includes a three-course dinner, paired with exclusive wines from Peru and Argentina, and live music.

Cost is $35 (plus tax) in advance and $40 the day of the event.

Rounds Burgers rolls into Claremont

Rounds Premium Burgers has been in the Inland Empire before…as a food truck.

Now it’s in the Inland Empire…as a restaurant.

Rounds Premium Burgers (the restaurant) opened up a couple of months back at 885 S. Indian Hill Blvd., just south of the 10 Freeway, but its ribbon-cutting ceremony was just held last week.

Pacific Western Bank’s annual food drive on through February 28

For the third year, Pacific Western Bank is hosting a food drive for Inland Valley Hope Partners.

Eight branches (five of which are in the Inland Empire) are participating: Corona, Claremont, Covina, Glendora, Irwindale, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario and Upland.

The bank has set a goal to collect 500 food items per location. Last year it collected three tons of food, which helped feed about 150 families for a week.

Since 1968, Inland Valley Hope Partners has provided food, shelter and supportive services to children and families in need. It provides close to 70,000 pounds of food every month, so your donations are definitely needed.
