The trifecta is complete.
Paul Martin’s, the third of Paul Fleming’s restaurants at Rancho Cucamonga’s Victoria Gardens, officially opened Monday (June 23).
A great fundraiser and culinary event is returning to Rancho Cucamonga’s Victoria Gardens on Thursday (June 26).
The second annual Tour de Fork will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. along the center’s South Mainstreet.
Tickets ($42-$52) include unlimited food tastings and five beverage tastings. A full 100% of ticket sales will benefit your choice of three local charities: The Rancho Cucamonga Community and Arts Foundation, the Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation or Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Services.
The Inland Empire’s newest Jersey Mike’s Subs opened yesterday (June 11).
The location has distributed 3,000 coupons good for a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Foothill Family Shelter, Rancho Cucamonga Community Services, or Living the Dream Foundation. Customers must have a coupon to get the deal, which is good through Sunday (June 15).
Locations in Fontana and Menifee are also in the works.
Today for lunch, I had my first (and likely last) sandwich made by Guido Sciortino, soon-to-be former owner of Guido’s Pizza and Deli in Rancho Cucamonga.
You see, Guido is retiring at the end of this month after 57 years of serving sandwiches and Italian delicacies.
While I was in the shop, munching on a couple of slices of complimentary salami, Guido mentioned that in the last couple of weeks he has seen lots of people that he hasn’t seen in years come into the deli to wish him well in his retirement.
Apparently, word has gotten around.
This month, military folks can get a free sundae at Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour.
Through May 31, the restaurant is celebrating National Military Appreciation Month by giving a free Red, White and Blue sundae to all current and former military personnel.
Civilians can purchase the sundae for $7.99 and Farrell’s will donate $1 to A Million Thanks, a nonprofit military support organization.

Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar has released numbers for this year’s Thin Mint milkshake fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of America.
The fundraiser, which took place in February and March, raised $5,249 for the Girl Scouts.
The chain donated $1 for each limited-edition shake ordered in its 12 SoCal locations (and sole Northern California location) to the organization.
Feisty Chicken & Grill, with locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario and Glendora, has apparently flown the coop.
I first noticed that the Glendora location was closed several weeks ago. A sign posted in the window indicated they were remodeling and would reopen soon.
Never a good sign.
Last week I drove by the Rancho Cucamonga location. Same thing.
This week I checked on the Ontario location and found the sign you see above. No work was actively going on inside the restaurant.
I’m not holding my breath.
Hot on the heels of last week’s 5.1 temblor in La Habra and this week’s deadly Chilean earthquake, Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour has created a Rocky Road Quake Shake, made with chocolate ice cream and a marshmallow swirl and topped with whipped cream, almonds and a cherry.
Through Sunday (April 6), the chain is donating 100% of the sales of the $4.99 dessert to the American Red Cross
A Hawaiian pizza is the latest weapon in the fight against cystic fibrosis.
The pie, a creation of a 10-year-old named Harry, is made with red sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple and cilantro.
You see, Harry’s friend, Morgan Johnson, 12, is battling the disease.
Pieology Pizzeria is using Harry’s pizza to raise funds to help his friend and other folks in the same situation.
Through June 1, Pieology is donating 15% of all sales of Mo Jo’s Hawaiian Pizza to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
