Congratulations to Rancho Cucamonga’s Suite 106 Cupcakery. The two-time Cupcake Wars-winning bakery was recently included in a list of the top 101 cupcakes in America, according to The Daily Meal.
Hitting the list at No. 31, it’s the highest-rated cupcakery in Southern California, beating out Palm Springs’ Over the Rainbow Cupcakes, which is ranked at number 94, Beverly Hills’ famed Sprinkles Cupcakes at number 88 and Glendale’s Goodie Girls at number 41.

Suite 106 Cupcakery is at 11920 Foothill Blvd. (at Rochester Avenue).
Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar has released numbers for this year’s Thin Mint milkshake fundraiser for the Girl Scouts of America.
The fundraiser, which took place in February and March, raised $5,249 for the Girl Scouts.
The chain donated $1 for each limited-edition shake ordered in its 12 SoCal locations (and sole Northern California location) to the organization.
Feisty Chicken & Grill, with locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario and Glendora, has apparently flown the coop.
I first noticed that the Glendora location was closed several weeks ago. A sign posted in the window indicated they were remodeling and would reopen soon.
Never a good sign.
Last week I drove by the Rancho Cucamonga location. Same thing.
This week I checked on the Ontario location and found the sign you see above. No work was actively going on inside the restaurant.
I’m not holding my breath.
Talk about timely.
Hot on the heels of last week’s 5.1 temblor in La Habra and this week’s deadly Chilean earthquake, Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour has created a Rocky Road Quake Shake, made with chocolate ice cream and a marshmallow swirl and topped with whipped cream, almonds and a cherry.
Through Sunday (April 6), the chain is donating 100% of the sales of the $4.99 dessert to the American Red Cross
A Hawaiian pizza is the latest weapon in the fight against cystic fibrosis.
The pie, a creation of a 10-year-old named Harry, is made with red sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple and cilantro.
You see, Harry’s friend, Morgan Johnson, 12, is battling the disease.
Pieology Pizzeria is using Harry’s pizza to raise funds to help his friend and other folks in the same situation.
Through June 1, Pieology is donating 15% of all sales of Mo Jo’s Hawaiian Pizza to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Guess who’s turning 55…Barbie!
Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour restaurants are celebrating the iconic doll’s birthday with a daylong celebration on Sunday (March 9).
Guests are invited to join Barbie and Ken from 10 to 11 a.m. at Farrell’s (except Santa Clarita, sorry) for a Barbie-inspired Zoo sundae, filled with 30 scoops of ice cream.
After singing a special birthday song to the guest of honor, the Zoo will be shared with the young guests (12 years old and younger) in attendance.
Just found out via Facebook that the Etiwanda Roadhouse is hosting a fundraiser for 28 year old Heather Deiderich, a mother of three who was just diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Close friends and family are raising money to help the Deiderich family.
Friday is Valentine’s Day, the day many couples spend the evening out for a nice, romantic dinner.
The problem is, it seems like everyone has the same idea and the interminable wait for a table can ruin any romantic intentions.
But one restaurant chain has come to the rescue.
Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar’s Valentine’s Day specials last all weekend.
If you ever wanted to chat with Jackass co-conspirator Jason “Wee Man” Acuña while munching on Mexican food, Saturday (February 8) is your day.
From noon to 6 p.m., the Rancho Cucamonga Chronic Tacos, 11920 E. Foothill Blvd., Suite 150, will celebrate its recent remodel and expansion.
The event is also a fundraiser, as the location will donate 15% of sales to the Jesse Rees Foundation, a group focused on fighting childhood cancer.
Shakey’s Pizza Parlor has decided to give its fans a little break tomorrow (January 21).
The pizzeria has posted a “Fan Appreciation” coupon for its famous Bunch of Lunch on its Twitter feed.
Coupon-holders will receive the all-you-can-eat meal for just $5.99 (with the purchase of a regular-sized beverage), a savings of $2 off the current price of $7.99.
