Dog Haus out? zpizza in in Rancho Cucamonga

It appears someone has turned the tables on us.

While we were patiently waiting for Dog Haus to open its third Inland Empire location at 11144 E. Foothill Blvd., Suite 130, in Rancho Cucamonga, zpizza quietly moved into the spot.

Although the specific page from Dog Haus’ website regarding the Rancho Cucamonga site no longer exists, the location (complete with address) is still on Dog Haus’ locations page as “coming soon.”

However, there’s no more room at that address for another eatery. Zpizza — which opens Friday (December 23) — filled the final vacancy.

San Bernardino ranked as one of the worst cities for foodies — again

Here we go again.

Back in 2013, a real estate website, Movoto, compiled a list of “America’s Worst Cities for Food Lovers,” and San Bernardino landed at the top of the list.

Last week, it was WalletHub’s turn.

The personal finance website posted its list of “2016’s Best & Worst Foodie Cities,” and guess what?

Yep. San Bernardino loses again.

But … it’s not as bad as Fontana, apparently.

Hello Kitty Cafe truck returns to the Inland Empire on Saturday

0_0913_NWS_IDB-L-HELLOKITTY-3Perhaps you (like us) missed the Hello Kitty Cafe truck’s previous visit to Victoria Gardens back in September of last year, or perhaps you did and are still craving those doughnuts you got last time.

Either way, the truck is making a return trip to the center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday (July 30).

Here’s why you probably won’t be going to this year’s Tour de Fork

First, the good news: Victoria Gardens’ Tour de Fork is back for a fourth year. The event is one of our favorite Inland Empire food events.

Tour de Fork, which features sampling from restaurants, breweries and wineries from Victoria Gardens and beyond, isn’t one of our favorites just because of all the delicious food and drink. A full 100% of ticket sales benefit local charities. This year’s event benefits the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation and the Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation.

Now, the bad news: If you don’t already have a ticket, you won’t be going this year. The event, which takes place June 23, is already sold out.

The Mug Shakes lands in Rancho Cucamonga

The Mug Shakes GrasshopperThe Mug Shakes, a new dessert shop in the Victoria Gardens Food Hall, had a very successful soft opening over the weekend.

The shop experienced long lines of customers — perhaps due to the tantalizing pictures of its products (like the one on the right) that garnered thousands of reactions on Facebook — and ended up having to close early due to sell-outs.

The location, which specializes in designer shakes, has been closed for a few days to regroup, hire some more employees and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday (May 5).

The Mug Shakes is at 12434 N Main Street, Rancho Cucamonga. For updates, “Like” ’em on Facebook.
