Kids of all ages can have breakfast with Santa Saturday at Rainforest Cafe

Kids of any age can spend a pre-Christmas breakfast with Santa from 8  to 10 a.m. Saturday (December 15) at the Rainforest Cafe Ontario Mills, 4810 Mills Circle.

It’s a wonder Santa can take a little time off this close to Christmas, I mean, you’d think he’d be extremely busy…but I digress.

The breakfast, which includes a “knee-high” buffet, family-friendly activities, raffles, photo time with Santa and assorted goodies and treats, is $12.99 for “kids” 13 and over, $8.99 for kids 4 to 12 and free for those under 3 years old.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 909-941-7979.

My Delight Cupcakery celebrates third anniversary Sunday

Funny, they don’t look a day over two…

Ontario’s My Delight Cupcakery is celebrating its third anniversary from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday (December 9) at the bakery, 1520 N. Mountain Ave., Suite B-108.

This is one party you don’t want to arrive fashionably late to, however…the first 300 customers will receive one regular-sized cupcake.

In addition, while supplies last, those who bring a toy to donate to Steven’s Hope for Children will receive a regular-sized cupcake.

The delicious fun doesn’t end there.

‘Tis the season…to watch holiday candies being made at Logan’s Candies

It’s that time again, and I think this is the year we’ll finally get to see it!

What is it? The making of holiday candies at Logan’s Candies in Ontario.

You, too, can see it for yourself as the store is offering candy making demonstrations throughout the holiday season.

The next demos will be 9:45 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. tomorrow (December 1), during the city’s Christmas on Euclid craft fair.

Upcoming demos will be 5:30, 7 and 8:30 p.m. December 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22.

Space is limited, so it’s a good idea to show up 15 or 20 minutes early.

Logan’s and its candy cane maker, Jerry Rowley, were the subject of an NPR article and interview back in 2007.

Holiday Cafe opens, gets reviewed

Holiday Cafe in Ontario, which replaced one of the many Arby’s that closed earlier this year, has opened!

How do we know?

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin’s very own lunch lady, Elaine Lehman, has already been there and has given us a review.

Although she only had a Chinese chicken salad, she seemed quite pleased with the place.

Looking at the menu, there’s quite a few things I’d like to try.

A plus: Breakfast is served all day, with the exception of lunchtime (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) on weekdays.

Holiday Cafe is at 931 N. Milliken Ave., in front of Sam’s Club.
