San Bernardino ranked as one of the worst cities for foodies — again

Here we go again.

Back in 2013, a real estate website, Movoto, compiled a list of “America’s Worst Cities for Food Lovers,” and San Bernardino landed at the top of the list.

Last week, it was WalletHub’s turn.

The personal finance website posted its list of “2016’s Best & Worst Foodie Cities,” and guess what?

Yep. San Bernardino loses again.

But … it’s not as bad as Fontana, apparently.

CREAM celebrating grand opening in Ontario Saturday with free ice cream sandwiches

CREAM OntarioWe’ve been eagerly anticipating the opening of both Noodle World Jr. and CREAM (Cookies Rule Everything Around Me) in the Daybreak Plaza on the northeastern outskirts of Ontario Mills, and the first one out of the gate will be CREAM.

The gourmet dessert shop — which features super-premium ice cream, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, shakes, sundaes and more — will hold its grand opening from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday (June 4).

Candy cane making demonstrations return to Logan’s Candies in Ontario

It’s that time again!

Candy cane making demonstrations have returned to Logan’s Candies in Ontario.

Times are as follows:

  • December 9-12,15-18: 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 8:30 p.m.
  • December 19: 1 p.m, 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m.
  • December 21-23: 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 8:30 p.m.
  • December 28: 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m.

The demonstrations are free, but it’s recommended that you arrive 15 to 20 minutes (if not earlier) ahead of the start time, as space is limited.

Ontario Hamburger Mary’s hosting ribbon-cutting event today

Hamburger Mary's Ontario Grand OpeningThe newly-opened Hamburger Mary’s in Ontario will kick off its grand opening celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today (September 10).

The ribbon-cutting begins at 5 p.m., with a live band performing from 6 to 8 p.m.

A special drag show — featuring Chad Michaels and Delta Work from RuPaul’s Drag Race, along with Mayhem Miller and Dolly Levi — begins at 8 p.m.

The grand opening celebration continues at 5 p.m. Saturday (September 12).

Hamburger Mary’s is at 3550 E. Porsche Way.

Free Wetzel’s Pretzels Pizza Bitz at three Inland Empire locations on Thursday

Pizza BitzThe people have spoken.

And the people of the Inland Empire have spoken very loudly.

Last month, Wetzel’s Pretzels asked its Facebook fans which stores should have the chain’s new Pizza Bitz — bite-size snacks made with pretzel dough, topped with cheese and pepperoni — before the rest of America.
