Upland’s Pine Haven Cafe celebrating second anniversary with free pancakes

Congratulations to our friends from Pine Haven Cafe and Catering, who are celebrating the cafe’s two-year anniversary.

However, it’s the cafe’s guests who are getting the presents as the restaurant is giving away a free short stack of pancakes to all from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (May 17).

Pieology fundraiser to help fight cystic fibrosis

A Hawaiian pizza is the latest weapon in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

The pie, a creation of a 10-year-old named Harry, is made with red sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple and cilantro.

You see, Harry’s friend, Morgan Johnson, 12, is battling the disease.

Pieology Pizzeria is using Harry’s pizza to raise funds to help his friend and other folks in the same situation.

Through June 1, Pieology is donating 15% of all sales of Mo Jo’s Hawaiian Pizza to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Upland Habit Burger hosting three pre-opening fundraisers

TheHabitFundraiserWe’ve been tracking the progress of several new eateries in Upland’s Colonies Crossroads, with Panera Bread, Pick Up Stix and Chipotle opening in recent months.

The latest is just about to open.

The Inland Empire’s newest Habit Burger Grill will officially open to the public at 10:30 a.m. on April 2, but the restaurant will host three fundraisers before that date.

Souvlla Greek Grill coming to Upland’s Colonies Crossroads

SouvllaNot all the new eateries are moving into the new, eastern section of Upland’s Colonies Crossroads.

Coming soon to the former Taco Factory spot in the older, northern section at 1945 N. Campus Ave., Suite C, is Souvlla Greek Grill.

Give a kiss, get a free entrée for Valentine’s Day at Qdoba

Pick Up Stix hiring for new Upland location; interviews tomorrow

It appears that Pick Up Stix may be the next restaurant to has joined Panera Bread in the new section of the Colonies Crossroads in Upland.

The chain is looking for experienced cooks and cashiers.

Open interviews will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow (January 23) at the new location, 1053 E. 19th St., Suite B.

Save on Shakey’s Bunch of Lunch tomorrow

Shakey’s Pizza Parlor has decided to give its fans a little break tomorrow (January 21).

The pizzeria has posted a “Fan Appreciation” coupon for its famous Bunch of Lunch on its Twitter feed.

Coupon-holders will receive the all-you-can-eat meal for just $5.99 (with the purchase of a regular-sized beverage), a savings of $2 off the current price of $7.99.

Panera Bread opens in Upland tomorrow

Get to bed early Panera Bread fans, because the newest location opens tomorrow (December 20) in Upland.

The first 25 customers each day tomorrow through Sunday (December 22) will receive a stainless steel Panera Bread coffee mug and a voucher for free coffee for a week.

The location is also partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank. All customer donations to the Panera Cares Community Breadbox will go to the organization, and Panera will match a portion of those funds.
