Celebrate Día de los Reyes with a Chinese twist at Dragon Loco

Sunday (January 6) is Día de los Reyes and Ontario’s Dragon Loco is celebrating it as only Dragon Loco can.

The Chinese-Mexican fusion restaurant will be handing out pieces of rosca de reyes, a ring-shaped sweet bread that is traditionally eaten on Día de los Reyes.

Typically baked into the rosca is a baby figurine, representing the baby Jesus.

If you receive the piece of bread with the figurine at Dragon Loco on Sunday, you’ll win free food!

Panda Express giving free Firecracker Chicken Breast with coupon

It’s been a while since Panda Express gave anything away.

The chain is gearing up for the Chinese New Year celebration with the return of Firecracker Chicken Breast, which is available for a limited time.

Facebook fans can get a coupon for a free single serving of Firecracker Chicken Breast on Monday (January 23), the first day of the 15-day long celebration. No purchase is necessary.

In addition to the coupon for the free entre, coupons for a free entree with a two-entre plate and 10% off your purchase, both valid Tuesday (January 24) through February 14, are included.

Panda Express locations can be found throughout the Inland Empire.

Two days left to get a free happy hour food item from P.F. Chang’s

I wish I’d seen this deal earlier in the week, but you’ve still got a couple of days left to take advantage.

P.F. Chang’s has posted a coupon for a free street fare or dim sum item from its Triple Happiness Happy Hours menu (with food purchase).

Trouble is, the coupon expires Sunday (August 21).

P.F. Chang’s happy hour runs from 3 to 6 p.m. daily and is available in the bar or in the dining room.

Click here to view and print the coupon, which is not good on Chang’s lettuce wraps.

P.F. Chang’s has locations in the Inland Empire in Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Riverside and Temecula.

Attention night owls: Free Panda Express orange chicken Friday night

You can get a single serving of the entre after 9 p.m. tomorrow (June 24) night. The usual restrictions apply.

Wok N’ Grill’s big Wednesday deal

I’ve written about what is probably the best deal on Chinese food on Tuesday, with Magic Wok’s $2 single-entre bowl deal.

But what do you do the rest of the week?

Recently-opened Wok N’ Grill, 905 N. Waterman Ave., San Bernardino, has your answer on Wednesdays, at least.

They’re offering the same deal as Magic Wok, only a penny cheaper — a single-entre bowl is $1.99 on Wednesdays.

While not quite the spectacle that Magic Wok was, a short line queued up the entire time I was there last night.

Your contributions to Japan relief efforts doubled at Panda Express, Panda Inn

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., which operates both Panda Inn and Panda Express here in the Inland Empire, is among the many restaurant chains (and local restaurants) donating to the relief effort in Japan.

Through the end of March, Panda Express, Panda Inn, and the non-I.E. Hibachi-San restaurant locations across the country will have in-store drop-boxes allowing guests to make contributions of any amount.

All guest-donated proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.

Also, contributions by the company’s 18,000 employees will be donated to the compassion relief organization, Tzu Chi Foundation, which is currently providing two hot meals per day in Oarai Town to the thousands of displaced people living in shelters.

The best part? Panda will match 100% of the proceeds collected at Panda Express, Panda Inn, Hibachi-San locations and by associates nationwide.

Panda Express locations can be found throughout the Inland Empire. You’ll find Panda Inn at 3223 E. Centrelake Drive in Ontario.

Who wants free shrimp?

As they’ve done in the past, Panda Express is celebrating the introduction of a new entre by giving it away.

The Chinese fast food restaurant is giving away a single serving of Golden Treasure Shrimp today (March 9).

All you need is this coupon.

The new entre consists of tempura shrimp, with red and green bell peppers in a zesty citrus sauce. It debuted March 2.

Panda Express can be found throughout the Inland Empire.

Magic Wok is the place to be on Tuesdays

I’m not sure how long this deal has been going, or how much longer it’s going to be offered, but on Tuesdays, Magic Wok is offering a single-entre bowl for only $2.

That’s right…$2!

I discovered the deal when we went to Redlands’ Citrus Plaza to check out the new Cafe Rio.

As crowded as the new restaurant was, the older one next door was equally so.

I guess to compete in this economy, you’ve got to be willing to slash and burn your prices.

For one day, anyway.

The regular price for the bowl is $4.64, so on Tuesdays you save 57 percent.

Yesterday I went to check it out for myself.
