Pieology fundraiser to help fight cystic fibrosis

PieologyFundraiser

A Hawaiian pizza is the latest weapon in the fight against cystic fibrosis.

The pie, a creation of a 10-year-old named Harry, is made with red sauce, mozzarella, ham, pineapple and cilantro.

You see, Harry’s friend, Morgan Johnson, 12, is battling the disease.

Pieology Pizzeria is using Harry’s pizza to raise funds to help his friend and other folks in the same situation.

Through June 1, Pieology is donating 15% of all sales of Mo Jo’s Hawaiian Pizza to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Yucaipa Pizza Chalet is on the move

Yucaipa’s Pizza Chalet is on the move!

Its lease was not renewed at its longtime location at 34579 Yucaipa Blvd., so the owners moved the pizzeria about a block down the street to 34299 Yucaipa Blvd., in the former Community Bank building.

The new location was scheduled to open last week, but the opening was pushed back due to problems with the gas meter installation.

For updates, check the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Update: The restaurant is open at its new location and is hiring! Click here for details.

The location where she worked — 1644 E. Highland Ave., #101 — is hosting a fundraiser today (February 19).

The franchise owner will donate 100% of sales to the Nelly Kantun Memorial Fund, and her co-workers are donating their time to make the fundraiser a reality.

Downtown Upland loses two eateries

In case you missed it, downtown Upland has lost one restaurant, is losing another, but is gaining a third.

Already closed is Aria Restaurant and Lounge, which was owned by the same folks who own Antonino’s Italian Restaurant, Haandi Indian Cuisine, Sixty 6 Sports Bar and Lounge and the Magic Lamp Inn in Rancho Cucamonga.

Facebook fan Diana reports that Charlie’s Red, White and Blue American Deli and Bar is moving into the space at 296 N. Second Ave.

Chino Pieology Pizzeria opens Wednesday

The Rancho Cucamonga Pieology Pizzeria caused quite a stir when it opened at the beginning of September.

Of course, I think some of that had to do with the fact that they gave away pizzas during training periods in the days leading up to the grand opening.

But that doesn’t diminish the fact that they serve delicious pizza, with as many toppings as you like, for $7.50 or less.

This week, it’s Chino’s turn to experience the Pieology, um, experience.
