Stamp Out Hunger returns tomorrow

Stamp Out Hunger 2014Tomorrow (May 10) marks the 22nd annual National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger food drive, the largest single-day food drive in the country.

It’s incredibly easy to participate! All you have to do is root through your pantry and gather some non-perishable items (please make sure that they’re not expired and avoid glass containers) and bag them up.

Then just put them by your mailbox before the carrier comes tomorrow.

Of course, if you want to head to the grocery store to pick up a few things to donate, even better!

Starbucks’ Frappuccino Happy Hour returns

We’re down to the last couple of days of the return of Starbucks’ Frappuccino Happy Hour.

Through Saturday (May 10), participating Starbucks locations are offering half-price Frappuccino beverages (any size, any flavor) between 3 and 5 p.m.

My Starbucks Rewards members have an extended Happy Hour (until 6 p.m.) when paying with a registered Starbucks card.

Starbucks locations can be found throughout the Inland Empire.

Meet Chick-fil-A’s $50 million grilled sandwiches and nuggets

Chick-fil-A grilled sandwichesChick-fil-A has spent $50 million-plus and seven years perfecting its new grilled chicken recipe.

Beginning Monday (April 14), you’ll be able to taste the fruits of the chain’s labor in three new menu items, created partly in response to consumers’ desire for healthier options.

The bulk of the investment was spent working with Garland Grills to create a proprietary grill, which was 11 years in the making. The grill sears chicken on cast-iron grates just like on a backyard grill, only faster.

Inland Empire Restaurant Week begins today

We’ve mentioned it before, but it’s finally here! The first-ever Inland Empire Restaurant Week begins today (March 21)!

A total of 60 restaurants from 20 different communities across the I.E. and beyond are participating in this inaugural event.

Those restaurants are giving diners a chance to sample several courses from a special discounted prix fixe menu.

Lunch prices are $10, $15 and $20, while dinners cost $20, $30 and $40.

We’re in the midst of the Lenten season, but you don’t need to step foot in any church to find that out.
