Taco Bell’s Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco launching Thursday tomorrow

Taco Bell’s latest Doritos Loco Taco — Cool Ranch — is officially launching Thursday (March 7), but the chain posted a couple of photos on its Facebook page and website letting fans know they can begin purchasing them tomorrow (March 6), just by asking for them.

The launch of the original Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco has been a massive success — the largest in the chain’s history, reportedly selling over 350 million since it was launched a year ago this week.

That the chain has been developing a Cool Ranch version has been been one of the worst-kept secrets and has been anticipated since the introduction of the original Doritos Locos Tacos.

25¢ won’t even buy you a cup of coffee any more…except at Burger King this week.

Through Sunday (March 10), the fast food chain is promoting its revamped coffee lineup — which now includes lattes — by selling a 12-ounce cup of its new BK Smooth Roast coffee for just a quarter.

The new brew is a Seattle’s Best Coffee 100 percent Latin American arabica blend and is also available in decaf, or iced plain or with flavored with vanilla, mocha or caramel.

Burger King locations can be found throughout the Inland Empire, with the exception of South Mount Vernon Avenue in Colton and West Base Line in San Bernardino, both of which are now closed.

California Pizza Kitchen hosting fundraiser for fallen Inland Empire officers

California Pizza Kitchen is hosting a fundraiser this week for the families of two Inland Empire officers — Riverside Police Department’s Officer Michael Crain and San Bernardino County sheriff’s Detective Jeremiah MacKay — that were recently killed in the line of duty.

The chain is will donate 20% of guests’ checks to the Riverside Police Officers’ Association and the Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Team on behalf of their families when this flier is presented.

The fundraiser is happening today (February 25) through Thursday (February 28) at all California CPK locations.

The flier is accepted during all business hours on both dine-in and take-out orders, catering and curbside service. It’s even good on alcoholic beverages, so if you want to raise a glass, you can, and help support the cause at the same time.

Inland Empire CPK locations include Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Riverside, Temecula, Palm Springs and Palm Desert.

Seeking Girl Scout Cookies? There’s an app for that!

It’s Girl Scout Cookie time again!

If none of your co-workers or family members have girls in the Girl Scouts, you might find it a little tricky to track down Girl Scout Cookies.

There are a pair of apps — each available for iOS and Android — that allow you to search and find Girl Scout Cookie sales in your area.

One, from Kellogg’s, does a reasonable job of letting you know where the sales are by date and location.

The other, from the Girl Scouts themselves, is a little more robust.

fresh & easy addresses news reports

The folks at fresh & easy have sent out an email to its “friends” addressing news reports regarding the future of the neighborhood markets.

The email states that the chain has no plans for closing stores and that they are still open for business and planning for the future, whatever that brings.

The chain is awaiting a “strategic review” from parent company Tesco.
