If you live in or are planning to visit the Big Bear area on Monday (June 20), think tacos.
From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, everyone is invited to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) fundraiser at the Sonora Cantina, 41144 Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear Lake.
Tacos will be sold for only $1, and the funds will go to support CERT, a group of trained citizen volunteers who support first responders in protecting themselves, their families and neighbors and neighborhoods.
CERT helps and supports fire and police personnel. If you're interested in getting free training, the next 20-hour class is scheduled for Monday, July 18. You can register for the class by calling the Big Bear City Fire District Office at 909-585-2362.

In one of the more unique fundraisers I've seen in a while, the Big Bear Lake Village Business Association will be hosting its second Wine Walk on from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday (July 24) in the downtown Big Bear Lake Village shopping district.
The event combines shopping and wine tasting as youstumble wander from store to store. Two great things that, um, go great together?
The association is expecting up to 500 locals and visitors to attend the fundraiser.
