While we were at Dripp a couple of weeks back for a Turkish coffee tasting (more on that later), we were privy to news of a new hot beverage that the coffee/dessert bar was introducing for Valentine's Day: The White Knight.
The White Knight was inspired by a premium chocolate (or more specifically, ChocoLate) bar, white chocolate with lemon and pink peppercorn, that is sold at Dripp.
The White Knight is a white chocolate macchiato made by melting pieces of the chocolate with hot espresso, then spiced up with pink peppercorns and brightened with freshly-grated lemon zest.
The new drink will be available today (February 14) after 7 p.m. at an introductory Valentine's Day only price of two for $14.
To further entice you to stop by Dripp on your way to (or from) a romantic dinner, every couple that orders two White Knights will be entered into a drawing for a fantastic coffee package valued at over $200:

A new coffee bar, Dripp, opens in Chino Hills tomorrow.
It's not just any coffee bar, however.
They've got something special.
Several somethings, in fact.
It all starts with individually ground and brewed drip coffees and espressos.
They also prepare Turkish coffees.
If tea is your preference, they carry only Harney & Sons Fine Teas...everything from English Breakfast to Hot Cinnamon Sunset.
Then things really get interesting.
They've got a pair of rare-in-the-U.S. Japanese Oji coffee drip apparatuses, which slowly brew coffee one drip at a time. It takes anywhere from six to ten hours to brew, but because they're constantly brewing, you won't have to wait that long for your iced coffee.
And we haven't even gotten to the "Cream Bar."

The Shoppes at Chino Hills will be gaining both an Irish pub and a coffee house/ice cream shop in the coming months.
Currently located at Hollywood and Vine, Dillon's Irish Pub & Grill will be expanding into the Inland Empire this fall. Dillon's will set up shop in an 8,000-square-foot space near H & M. Dillon's claim to fame is comfort food and a wide variety of draft beers at affordable prices.
The Hollywood location offers $3 draft beer pints. Not too shabby.
Hmm...suddenly, I'm craving a black and tan.
Dripp, a new coffee boutique, is preparing to open this summer at 13855 City Center Drive, Suite 3015, across from California Pizza Kitchen. The Chino Hills Dripp is the first of what owner Rabih Sater hopes to be a chain of coffee shops.
Utilizing a unique Japanese slow drip technique, Dripp will hand-brew one cup of coffee at a time, to order, using specialty-roasted, ground daily coffees and espressos from around the world. Dripp will also offer a variety of ice cream flavors and freshly baked cookies which can be combined for made-to-order ice cream sandwiches.

In a story on this morning's business page, writer Andrew Edwards (who I hear has a "Habit" habit himself) wrote about the upcoming opening of The Habit Burger Grill in the Chino Hills Marketplace.
This will be their first restaurant in the Inland Empire, although in 2008 they opened a location in La Verne.
They serve sandwiches and salads as well as burgers.

In less happy news, City Broiler announced a short while ago on Twitter and their Facebook page that they were shutting down as of today.

I never had a chance to visit City Broiler. I only knew of them through their involvement in the Taste of Chino Valley and Chino Valley Restaurant Week events.
The restaurant had been open just shy of four years. Online reviews were mostly positive.
