The Inland Valley will see three major food truck festivals before summer even begins.
We've already mentioned the Palm Springs Food Truck Festival, being curated by Cliff Young, host of KVCR-TV's Out to Eat show.
That event is gathering steam and new trucks daily, with Inland Empire-based Where's the Fire Pizza truck, along with India Jones Chow Truck, Frysmith, Piaggio on Wheels, the Vizzi Truck and Waffles de Liege among the 36 announced participants.
The event is being held February 4 at the Spa Resort Casino. General admission tickets are $10.
The first Inland Valley event will take place a couple of weeks later, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. February 18 at Cable Airport in Upland.
The UHRB Food Truck Frenzy is a fundraiser for the Upland Highland Regiment Band. Tickets are $5.
Details are still a little sparse, but a flier announces a Dale Bros. Brewery beer garden and 21 "subject to change" trucks, including Don Chow Tacos, the Lime truck, the Bun Truck and Meet n' Potatoes.

The Upland Farmer's Market is promising (besides fresh produce and other goodies you normally find at a farmer's market) food trucks!
The Farmer's Market is held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Third Avenue and A Street (across from the Metrolink station).
In addition, they are advertising "L.A. and O.C.'s tastiest food trucks" from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (August 6) and August 27.
According to the Farmer's Market's Facebook page, the following trucks are scheduled to show up:
Perhaps someday soon, this will be a more regular occurrence. The county Board of Supervisors are scheduled to discuss the food truck ban during their meeting on Tuesday (August 9). More on that later.

So, the other day I went to the Colton Wal-Mart and was surprised to find that they now have fresh produce, meats and other refrigerated items along with the frozen goods and non-refrigerated groceries they used to carry.
Only now, they carry a lot more groceries than they used to.
They even have a small deli and a small bakery.
A friend told me that the Redlands Target is also gearing up for fresh produce and meats. They're remodeling now -- and have already expanded their non-refrigerated grocery selection -- and are expecting to have everything available June 1.
The Upland Target has already been reconfigured and is selling fresh groceries.
The best way I can describe it is that they are mini versions of their "Super" counterparts.

If you're in the mood for a great meal, you might want to head to Toys Я Us.
Not for something to eat, mind you, but to pick up a toy for a kid whose family might not be able to afford to give them toys.
In the spirit of the holiday, Christophe's Restaurant and Lounge in downtown Upland has signed up to be a collection spot for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
Christophe's is collecting new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations through December 17.
