San Manuel's Serrano Buffet mixes it up

San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino has mixed things up in its Serrano Buffet.

Mariachis.pngThe Mexican buffet night has moved to Friday night, replacing the typical seafood buffet, which is now on Wednesday.

Also, barbecue night has been moved to Tuesday.

But that's not the big news.

The big news is that they've also revamped the menu.

Dine 909 was one of a select group of media folks invited to a special tasting dinner hosted by Chef Joe Craighead and Food and Beverage Manager Bob Svonkin a few weeks back. I enjoyed pretty much everything I sampled that evening.

The changes are welcome, since while I've always thought that the Serrano Buffet was good, I've also thought that there was room for improvement.

Juanita's expands into Rancho Cucamonga

For those of you who might have missed it on Monday's business page, Rancho Cucamonga reporter (and Dine 909 contributor) Wendy Leung wrote about the expansion of Juanita's into Rancho Cucamonga.

The popular Mexican restaurant began in Pomona in 1976, and served only red pork burritos and shredded beef tacos.

The restaurant eventually expanded (along with the menu) to include a second location in Ontario.

The new location expands the menu even further by adding French fries and chili verde fries to the mix.

The Rancho Cucamonga Juanita's is at 9651 Base Line, at Archibald Avenue, formerly a Taco Bell.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

If you live in or are planning to visit the Big Bear area on Monday (June 20), think tacos.

CERT helps and supports fire and police personnel. If you're interested in getting free training, the next 20-hour class is scheduled for Monday, July 18. You can register for the class by calling the Big Bear City Fire District Office at 909-585-2362.

Women's Club of San Bernardino offers festival alternative

Not going to the Inland Empire Food Truck Fest this Saturday? You're still gonna need to eat.

And you might as well help some folks out while you do it.

The Women's Club of San Bernardino is hosting an enchilada dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday (June 18) at their clubhouse, 503 W. 31st St.

The $10 cost of your dinner will go to a fund that will be used to repair the clubhouse roof.

I know the roof still needs repair because I see the tarp covering it every day on my way to work.

You can even build your own sundae for dessert!

For information or tickets, please call 909-882-0440.
Where's Jordan?

Well, at noon tomorrow (May 27), 66ers Account Executive Jordan Smith will be at Qdoba Mexican Grill in Redlands for lunch.

Why do you care?

He'll have plenty of 66ers tickets (and several pairs of Angels vouchers) to share.

Free baseball tickets sounds like a pretty good way to start your extended weekend!

The Redlands Qdoba is at 9990 Alabama St.
