Arby’s goes Hawaiian

Arby’s has said “aloha” to King’s Hawaiian for its two new sandwiches.

Both the King’s Hawaiian roast beef and roast beef and Swiss sandwiches have a third more roast beef than the chain’s classic roast beef sandwiches, served in a King’s Hawaiian bun.

The roast beef and Swiss sandwich adds Swiss cheese, pickles and a creamy Dijon spread.

Click here for more information on the new, limited-time sandwiches.

The chain is promoting the limited-time items by giving away a four-night Hawaiian vacation, complete with a surfing lesson.

Inland Empire Arby’s locations include San Bernardino, Ontario, Fontana, Redlands, Chino Hills, Upland, Hesperia, Victorville and Apple Valley.

Gourmet Pizza Shop gives back

The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe reminds us why the pizzeria is a Dine 909 Favorite, and it’s not just because they have delicious and unique pizzas.

The restaurant is donating 10% of its sales tomorrow (April 30) to the family of one of its employees, Marcos Orozco.

Orozco’s 21-year-old sister, Isabel Orozco Vitela, passed away April 13 following a sudden rejection of her heart transplant.

The family needs money to help pay for burial expenses.

The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe is at 120 E. State St., Redlands.

Food trucks rolling into La Sierra University on Sunday

Just found out about this event…the La Sierra University senior class is hosting an art walk and food truck festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday (April 28).

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which is a fundraiser for the senior class gift. There’s no mention of an admission price, so I’m thinking it’s a free event.

Since La Sierra is a Seventh-day Adventist campus, the focus is on meat-free trucks. So, no Bacon MANia.

The event will be held at the “statue patio,” which I believe is the same as the sculpture plaza, which is at the end of Yeager Way, the main entrance to the campus. But I could be totally wrong.

La Sierra University is at 4500 Riverwalk Parkway, Riverside.
