International Tamale Festival returns to Indio this weekend

It’s the first weekend in December, and that means it’s time for the Indio International Tamale Festival!

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today (December 6) and Sunday (December 7). It takes place in downtown Indio, between Highway 111 and Indio Boulevard, along Miles Avenue, Towne Street, Smurr Street and Requa Avenue.

Limited-time pumpkin shake available at Baker’s Drive-Thru

The hand-scooped dessert will only be available as long as the ingredient supply holds out, which is expected to be just a few more days.

The shake is available in one size, at the bargain price of $2.

I had a sneak preview of the shake before its unveiling and thought it was delicious, tasting a little like pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

Baker’s Drive-Thru locations can be found throughout the Inland Empire.

Third Thursdays Food Fest returns to downtown San Bernardino this week

Third ThursdaysFood truck fans, rejoice!

Tomorrow is the third Thursday of the month, and that means the return of food trucks to the City Hall parking lot in downtown San Bernardino.

Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural event last month, organizers are bringing even more trucks on board for tomorrow’s lunch (November 20).

If you remember, long lines were the norm and some attendees ended up at local eateries due to time constraints. Most of the trucks had sold out by the time the event was over.

Let’s hope the increased number of trucks will help.

Riverside Plaza Dickey’s Barbecue Pit begins three-day grand opening celebration today

Today, the first 50 guests receive gift cards worth up to $50 and the next 100 guests will receive free meal vouchers.

Food trucks headed to tonight’s Fall Festival at the Grove Community Church

Grove Fall FestivalSixteen food trucks, are scheduled to be part of the church’s Fall Festival, which is set for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight (October 31).

Scheduled trucks include Belly Bombz, Classic Taco Truck, Cousins Maine Lobster, the Cupcake Place, Eat ‘Em Up Truck, the Grilled Cheese Truck, Kona Ice, MexiCalbi, Porko Rico BBQ, Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard, Rolling Sushi Van, the Sweet Stop, Tornado Potato and Where’s the Fire Gourmet Pizza.

The Grove Community Church is at 19900 Grove Community Drive.
