I’ll be the first to admit that the Inland Empire doesn’t have everything.
And one of the things it doesn’t have is Galco’s Soda Pop Stop.
You see, Galco’s is home to hundreds of soda varieties from the U.S. and around the world, and it’s the “around the world” part that’s the focus of Galco’s fifth summer soda tasting event.
The “Around the World in 80 Sips” event is set for 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday (July 19), featuring samples of sodas from Japan, France, Italy, Hawaii, England, New York and many other locales.
Do you love ice cream?
Do you really love ice cream?
If you do, and you think you’ve got what it takes, good news: Qualifications have begun for Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour Restaurant’s sixth annual Splendiferously Superific Summer Spectacular Ice Cream Eating Challenge.
Whew…that’s a challenge just reading that.
To qualify, visit any Farrell’s between now and July 12 and pay a $20 entry fee. You’ll receive a limited-edition T-shirt, a $5 coupon for your next visit and a three-scoop sundae.
Then, wolf down that sundae as fast as you can.
The Tour de Fork is returning for a third “tine” to Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. The fundraising event is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday (June 11) along the center’s South Mainstreet.
I’ve been able to attend both previous events and have enjoyed myself immensely. The 21-and-older event showcases restaurants located both at Victoria Gardens and in the surrounding area.
Past events have also offered sneak peeks at soon-to-open eateries, with Slater’s 50/50, [N7] Creamery and No Clue Craft Brewery all having previewed at the event.
New this year is Blaze Pizza, which happens to be opening at Victoria Gardens the same day.
Temecula’s Pechanga Resort and Casino has a pair of delectable events this weekend that are sure to delight any food lover.
The resort’s annual Chocolate Decadence is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Friday (February 27).
The event features both sweet and savory chocolate treats, along with more than 30 wineries featuring over 100 champagnes, sparkling and dessert wines specially selected for pairing.
Attendees will also be able to sample desserts and other confections created by Pechanga’s pastry chefs.
What’s for dinner?
How about a heaping helping of philanthropy?

October marks the return of one of our favorite fundraisers: The Baker’s Drive-Thru Safe Halloween coupon books.
This year’s book includes 31 coupons representing $408 in savings. The coupons are perfect for handing out to trick-or-treaters or — if you’re like me — treating yourself, family and friends to free and discounted food and fun.
The deals start with three coupons for free food from Baker’s Drive-Thru: a bean and cheese burrito; egg soft taco; and French fries, hash browns or chips and salsa.
There are also coupons for free child’s admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Planes of Fame air museum, the Ontario Reign and both Scandia’s and the Friends of C.I.D.’s haunted houses. There are several free passes for Fiesta Village and coupons for free miniature golf at Monarch Fun Zone as well as free bowling at Del Rosa Lanes and Victor Bowl.
Have a sweet tooth? There are coupons for a free mini cupcake at My Delight Cupcakery and a free donut from Krispy Kreme.
And that’s just the beginning.
The coupons books are just $1 and 100% of that goes to Easter Seals Southern California.
The books are available at all Baker’s Drive-Thru locations while supplies last.
Panera Bread has brought back its popular Pink Ribbon Bagel fundraiser.
Ten cents from the sale of every Pink Ribbon Bagel — made with cherry chips, dried cherries, cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar — will be donated to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, an organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer.
You gotta eat, right?
Well, here’s a way you can have a delicious meal while helping give support for victims of sexual assault and child abuse.
