Monday not blue

If anyone in the Dodgers organization figured to be upset about the fact that spring training is moving to Arizona, it’s broadcaster Rick Monday. Monday and his wife, Barbaralee, live in Vero Beach. But during casual lunchtime conversation today, Rick, who played his college ball at Arizona State before the Kansas City A’s made him the first overall pick in baseball’s first-ever amateur draft in 1965, said he and Barbaralee are philosophical about the whole thing. “We have adopted the mindset that it’s going to be a four-week vacation,” he said. “And it’s a vacation to the place where I went to school.” It is becoming more and more difficult to find people who object to this move.
