He was booed off the field by the Wrigley faithful, to which he responded by looking into the crowd, nodding and pointing at his left ear, which I think was his way of saying, “Yeah, I hear you, and I agree.” By that time, he had thrown 96 pitches. Anyway, five different Dodgers have at least two RBI. To me, the key moment in this one came in the fourth inning, with the Dodgers trailing 2-1 and runners on second and third and two outs. Andy LaRoche, still looking for his first hit since being recalled on Sunday, worked Zambrano for a full count. When Zambrano threw his next pitch well off the plate, LaRoche reached out, put a soft swing on it and lined it just past the lunging Derrek Lee and up the rightfield line for a game-tying double. Esteban Loaiza then drove in LaRoche and Loney with a single to left, making it 4-2. Another key moment came in the fifth, with the Dodgers leading 6-2 and Will Ohman having come on to relieve Zambrano. James Loney, the first batter to face Ohman, worked him for a full count, fouled off a couple of pitches, then drove one to the wall in right-center to score two more. It would have been a triple if Loney hadn’t fallen flat on his face just after rounding second. He had to scramble back to the bag. But his hit all but put the game away. … Speaking of Loaiza, he has fairly cruised after giving up a home run to Alfonso Soriano on the second pitch he threw as a Dodger.
