It's sad, but Torre has lost it (if he ever had it on those talent-stocked Yankees teams to begin with).
I know he sees Andruw Jones hitting well in BP, but he's also hitting a league worst .038 w/ RISP. That's simply absurdly bad. I can see the theory that we "need" Jones' bat to get going to have a chance at making the playoffs, but does throwing games away NOW not hurt the team's chances?
I really feel for Andre Ethier. Not sure what more the guy can do.
P.S. Is Ned just sitting on his rear or is he working the phones to take advantage of Pierre's hot start? Hopefully McCourt has noticed that his GM isn't exactly helping the team. One disasterous free agent signing after the other.
