Tonight's lineup: Torre hoping right makes might

| | Comments (6) |

Only two left-handed batters. Andre Ethier sits in favor of switch-hitting Delwyn Young. James Loney sits in favor of Andy LaRoche. Pierre (.429) and DeWitt (.348) are burning up lefties, so they're playing.

LF Pierre
RF Young
2B Kent
C Martin
CF Kemp
1B LaRoche
3B DeWitt
SS Berroa
RH Billingsley

tony, i know raffy is out for 2 more weeks but he is still progressing right? he didn't have a physical setback right? the doctor just said he needed a few more weeks? correct?

I wonder if Torre thought to check Wolf's L/R splits.

vs. LHP: .333/.407/.490
vs. RHP: .238/.295/.356

I'm not saying he should manage like a robot, but I wonder if he even looks at that sort of stuff. I guess it makes some sense because Ethier has struggled vs. LHP this year. Oh well.

Even worse though is the omission of James Loney. All Loney has done this month is hit in all 10 games and bat .367 with some great defense (i.e. last night).

My understanding is that Furcal FEELS fine, but the doctor for some reason thinks he needs two more weeks. To me, that's a setback, considering they thought he was almost ready. But in the truest sense of the word, no, it probably isn't really a setbaack.

oh, thanks for clearing that up tony. so raffy hasn't aggrivated ANYTHING IN HIS BACK and this is just EXTREME PRECAUTION? Will furcal ever really be 100% this year?

also, i now need a psychiatrist because of raffy. he has caused me so much stress and anxiety of the past moth and a half.

You're expending WAY too much emotional energy into this team. They have broken your heart for 20 years. Is there really any reason to think they aren't going to do it again. Only way to avoid it is to not put your heart out there.

i wish i could do that tony but i just can't. i am emotionally drained, performing poorly at my job, this raffy injury has caused me so much stress and really has ruined my life.
