Blake DeWitt recalled, Pablo Ozuna DFA'd
Didn't see this one coming. Guess is has something to do with the team's sagging offense. DeWitt was batting .500 (11 for 22) over a four-game stretch that ended on Saturday, but according to his day-by-day stats on milb.com, he hasn't played since. Not sure why, but I'll try to find out. ... Ozuna had become nothing more than a late-inning defensive replacement and pinch runner, but I would imagine if he clears waivers, he'll be back next week. ... A few minutes ago, the club also announced that Cory Wade was coming off the DL and that Tanyon Sturtze had been DFA'd, but they quickly retracted that. Not sure why, unless they decided to wait a couple of days because Cory is still sore.

DeWitt must be in D.C. or due to arrive very shortly if the move is now and not after the game. Maybe Wade isn't there or won't be there in time for the game - is he rehabbing in L.A.?

What are the chances that Elbert is added to the 40 man roster and gets called up next week?
Tony - a couple days ago you wrote in a comment, "Twenty-five years later, our [newspaper] industry is really struggling. I still love it, but I just hope it's there for me to love for a few more years." No doubt about the newspaper business, but the beat writer job is still bread-and-butter for the sports news business, it's just that you and the future Tony Jacksons won't be published in newsprint primarily, but on-line. (I haven't bought the Daily News in about a decade, but I sure read a lot of words written by Tony Jackson.) And there still will be multiple sources - I read several Dodgers beat writers' work on-line. (I'm certain you must have thought this through much farther than I have.)
Hey Dave, thanks for the encouragement. I sure hope you're right, and I sure hope I can be here providing coverage for you and all the other loyal readers for years to come. As for DeWitt, yes, they were rained out Monday and he was told of his promotion before last night's game.
