Penny throws a simulated game

He just finished. Don't have any details or what it means for his return, but everything looked fine from up here. Guessing he'll come back in a few days and contribute out of the bullpen. The guys who hit off him are still down there, taking early BP with Mattingly pitching. It's a perfect day in San Diego, a slight chill coming off the harbor so it might get cool during the game, but the sky is cloudless and Petco Park is looks great in the afternoon shadows -- certainly better than the team that plays here every night. But the Dodgers, as hot as they are and as easy as their schedule appears to be the rest of the way, still have to actually beat them.
