Jeff Kent knew it was time

Jeff Kent said he knew he would retire when he signed a two-year contract extension with the Dodgers. It was apparently so known, that his wife and friends threw a surprise retirement party for him at the end of the season in San Francisco, something that never came out. Dana Kent said her husband was very emtional then, too.

Enough with Mr. Chuckles. How about trying some real reporting Lapdog Tony. Like relaying some insight as to why the Dodgers never wanted Derek Lowe back because of his courtship to Carolyn Hughes that broke up his marriage and that Jamie McCourt (she thinks she is a therapist) tried counseling Lowe and thought he was nutzo (check the LA Times). Give us something more than Dodger press releases.

Heard the Dodgers development team watched the Lakers practice the other day. Hopefully, they’ll learn a thing or two about playing championship ball.

zzzzzzzz’s to you FU Bruin: you have yet to post anything compelling, ever.

I get it. You’re being all “ironical” again. Nicely done.

    Hey Tony,
What a great message jeff sent to the kids and to the young players that are trying to make it in this great game. I am proudly wearing my Jeff Kent jersey today at work.

I forgot to add this that Jeff also said
“I am completely embarassed by the steroid era” “I never cheated the game, I never cheated myself or my teammates.

Despite denials, I’m wondering if the Mets aren’t sending a message that they’re interested in Manny. See the sports sections of the following:

If the Mets do get serious, the Dodgers may end up regretting the game of brinksmanship they’re playing with Boras.

thanks Brooklyn Dodger! I’ll check that out.
