Dodgers 11, Rangers 4

Randy Wolf had his best performance of the spring -- and, by his own estimation, the longest spring-training start of his career. He threw six shutout innings, allowing only one hit, and he faced one batter over the minimum, erasing the hit he allowed by picking Joaquin Arias off first base and one of his two walks by getting Arias to GIDP to end the sixth inning. You may recall that Wolf gave up seven runs on 10 hits in four innings his last time out, including a three-run bomb to Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano. Since then, Randy made an ever-so-slight mechanical adjustment on his breaking pitches, getting his elbow just a little higher. ``Pretty nice adjustment,'' pitching coach Rick Honeycutt said after the game. Wolf also went 2 for 2 at the plate, with a two-run double. ... Rafael Furcal had two hits, including a double up the leftfield line on a perfectly placed push bunt that somehow got enough loft on it to get past the third baseman and scoot up the line. ... Jason Repko hit a three-run homer in his lone plate appearance, his first extra-base hit of the spring. ... Andre Ethier went 0 forr 5 with two strikeouts. He is now hitting .188, with two extra-base hits in 48 ABs and three RBI. Torre had a talk with him yesterday about not putting too much pressure on himself, especially in spring training, and said Ethier was receptive to the advice. ... Dodgers go to 13-11. At the Angels tomorrow.

Tony,
I am a Dodger fan from Albuquerque, and I am very excited about the return of the Dodgers triple A to Albuquerque. My question is what does the roster for the Isotopes look like. I know they have played three spring training games, but what kind of line up have been playing with and who can we expect to see in Albuquerqe. Do you have any kind of information about tha minor league camp? Thank you for your time. I really like your blog and the information you provide. I know when I want inside iformation I can goto your blog and get good information. Thanks

Evan

Hi Tony,

I'll be driving to Arizona tomorrow evening to catch the Dodgers vs. Mariners game on Tuesday night at Camelback. Do you know what time I can get into the park to check out the practices and get autographs? Since it's a night game, I figure it may be a different schedule than the usual.

Thanks,

- Ernie

Ernie, I'm not sure what the schedule will be because, as you said, the night game throws everything off. My guess is you should show up around 3:30 or 4. Evan, I answered your question via email, hope you received my response.

Please oh please somebody take juan pierre off our hands. I'd love to see the OF of Kemp, Ethier, ManRam, Repko and Paul. I liked JP for his work ethic, but there are better and younger alternatives waiting in the wings.

I was at CBR yesterday and it is spectacular! GREAT game (even JP did well!) and such a beautiful environment!! Every baseball team was represented in the stands...and nothing but friendly, happy people!
Loved every minute and will definitely make it an annual event!
On our way to the Angels/Dodgers game today! Yeah!!
Thank, as always Tony, for keeping us all in the loop!
